Effective September 14, 2026
Kid Talk Translator ("Kid Talk", "we") is a slang dictionary for parents, available as a website and an iOS app. This policy describes exactly what data the service handles. It is written to match what the software actually does, not a template.
Nothing, until you use a feature that needs it. Browsing and decoding against the built-in dictionary happen on your device and require no account.
Data is processed by: Google Firebase (authentication, database, and aggregate usage measurement), Google Fonts (serves this site's typeface, so Google receives your IP address on page load, as with any font CDN), Vercel (hosting, server cache), Anthropic (AI translation of text you submit), and Sentry (website error reports).
To prevent abuse, our server also keeps short-lived rate-limiting counters keyed by request IP address; these exist only for the current hourly window and are not linked to any account.
Kid Talk is intended for adults and accounts require you to be 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16; if you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
You can use the core dictionary without any account.
You can delete your account from inside the app or the website at any time — in Settings, opened from the button in the top-right corner of the home page. Deleting happens right away and removes your account, your profile information, your terms acceptance, your votes and any reports you filed. Terms you submitted to the community stay in the feed but are no longer linked to you: other people have voted on them, and approved ones are part of the shared dictionary. If you want a submission removed too, contact us and we will take it down.
Server-side text caches expire automatically within 30 days.
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app.
